// CUSTOM FORMULATION

Build a custom supplement formulation brief.

Turn ingredient, serving and format requirements into a supplier development brief. Nutrivelta coordinates feasibility questions, sample scope and the responsibilities needed for a custom-formulation proposal.

Illustrative formulation still life with powder, capsules and laboratory tools

Give the supplier a defined development scope.

A custom brief begins with the intended composition and market requirements. The responsible supplier and technical reviewers assess the formula, process and samples; the written scope records ownership, approvals and commercial conditions.

// 01 / BRIEF

Define composition and use

Set out the intended ingredients, amounts per serving, format and audience. Include restrictions and the market requirements the proposal needs to address.

  • Ingredient identity, form and amount basis
  • Serving, format and intended audience
  • Restrictions, target market and pack direction

// 02 / FEASIBILITY

Coordinate feasibility and samples

Identify the supplier and technical review responsibilities. Compare proposed formula changes, process constraints and sample evaluation criteria before selecting the development route.

  • Feasibility questions and proposed revisions
  • Sample versions and evaluation criteria
  • Requested tests and supporting documents

// 03 / AGREEMENT

Agree ownership and the handover

Record confidentiality, formula ownership, development deliverables and approval roles. Carry the selected formula and artwork versions into the written quotation and order.

  • Confidentiality and formula-use rights
  • Development scope, costs and approval roles
  • Selected specification and written order conditions

// HOW TO GET STARTED

A process built around
the actual product.

01

Write the formulation brief

Describe ingredients, intended amounts, serving, format, market and restrictions.

02

Request supplier feasibility review

Identify technical questions, proposed changes and the party responsible for evaluating them.

03

Agree the development scope

Record deliverables, confidentiality, formula-use rights, costs and review responsibilities.

04

Evaluate a defined sample version

Use agreed criteria for composition, presentation, sensory characteristics and any required testing.

05

Select formula and artwork versions

Resolve the review findings and identify the specification, package and label for the proposal.

06

Agree quotation and handover

Record the quantity, schedule, documents and responsibilities for the proposed order.

// YOUR PROJECT INPUTS

A useful brief starts with six decisions.

Use these points to prepare the first discussion. Include what you know and identify the decisions you still need to make.

  • Target market
  • Ingredient and serving direction
  • Preferred dosage form
  • Ingredient or dietary restrictions
  • Packaging and quantity expectations
  • Required documents and approval responsibilities

// BEFORE THE BRIEF

Your questions,
considered.

Can you help with a different formula?

Share the ingredients, intended amounts per serving, preferred format, target market and expected quantity. We coordinate the supplier feasibility discussion and identify the proposed development work, samples and responsibilities.

How is the minimum order determined?

The supplier quotation sets the minimum for the selected formula, format, packaging and unit of measure. Label-only changes, a different pack and a new formulation can have different order conditions; include the intended configuration in your brief.

How do I request a sample?

Tell us which product or formula you want to evaluate and the questions the sample should answer. Sample type, version, quantity, charges, shipping and evaluation scope are agreed before an arrangement is made.

What determines the project schedule?

Formula review, sample evaluation, packaging, artwork approval, production, release and dispatch have separate dependencies. The written proposal sets the milestones for the agreed product, quantity and responsible parties.

// FOR YOUR PRODUCT BRIEF

Define the development work and its responsible parties

Questions to reconcile for the proposed product and order
What to compareWhy it mattersWhat to request
Technical starting pointAn ingredient wish list is not the same as a workable formulation proposal.The requirements, constraints and questions for the responsible supplier to evaluate.
Sample and approval scopeA sample should be evaluated against an agreed version and criteria.The proposed sample version, acceptance questions and sign-off responsibilities.
Ownership and handoverDevelopment, manufacturing and formula rights are different responsibilities.Written confidentiality, ownership, change-control and delivery terms relevant to the project.

Questions for this decision

What does a supplier feasibility review assess?

The review considers the actual ingredients, amount basis, format, process requirements, restrictions and intended product. Its output should identify proposed changes, open questions, samples and the development work needed for a quotation.

Who is responsible for formulation and technical review?

The project identifies the supplier and technical parties performing the work, their deliverables and approval roles. Nutrivelta coordinates that brief and handover; the proposal should name the parties responsible for formulation, manufacturing and review.
